Dick Reeves

Dick Reeves is a successful serial technical entrepreneur, and out of his experiences raising capital for his own ventures came his understanding of the value of organizing angels into groups.

In 2006 he was the founding chairman and Executive Director of the Huntsville Angel Network. He was the original organizer of the group in 2005, and has led it to 85 members and over $9 million in total investment in Huntsville area companies, including two successful exits in 2010 (and two unsuccessful exits in prior years). In this position he has been responsible for establishing the group's due diligence and investment processes, for supervising the group's due diligence activities, and for administering the group's investments. Mr. Reeves was also the instigator of the Shoals Angel Network, which formed in 2008 to serve northwest Alabama's needs for angel capital, and which has 45 members.

Dick Reeves was one of the original organizers in 1996 of BizTech, Huntsville's technology-focused business incubator. He served as BizTech's first Executive Director in 1996-1997, and served as Board Chairman and member of its Board until 2010. He served as BizTech's President and CEO from November 2002 until November 2008, during which period the incubator expanded into new facilities in Cummings Research Park, increased its client population to 18 companies, and increased its total annual economic impact on the Huntsville community from $14 million in 2002 to over $60 million in 2007. He was responsible for establishing BizTech's technology commercialization function, which serves Alabama's universities to commercialize technology coming out of its faculty. He was also responsible for organizing BizTech's support of the Alabama LaunchPad business plan competition, in which Huntsville area companies won a total of 3 first place, two 2nd place, and two 3rd place prizes, and a total of $475,000 in prize money.

Mr. Reeves is a co-founder of InQ Biosciences Corporation, a 2007 LaunchPad prize winner, and currently a Huntsville Angel Network portfolio company. He has served as the company's Chairman since inception, as its CEO in 2010, and is its Executive Chairman currently.
