Space Investment Summit 3 Event Details
Summit Overview. Space Investment Summit 3 (SIS-3) focuses on leading seed and early stage investors, space entrepreneurs and space commerce professionals, and provides a unique opportunity to expand networks, join peer-to-peer discussions and assess pre-screened entrepreneurial business plans from companies with high growth potential.
Expert investors pack the SIS-3 program agenda with "first-look" updates on up-and-coming investment opportunities in space-related commerce, inside information on partnering opportunities, and reliable knowledge about pre-screened entrepreneurial companies. For later-stage investors, SIS-3 reveals how space-related startups can move successfully through the investment pipeline, beyond seed and early stage status. Entrepreneurial Business Plans. SIS-3 invites entrepreneurs to submit space commerce business plans for consideration at the SIS-3 investor forum. A panel of investors and space commerce experts will evaluate applicant entrepreneur business plans, select top candidates and invite the entrepreneurs selected to either present their business plans or exhibit at the SIS-3, or both present and exhibit. Market areas to be considered are biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, materials, satellite services (communications, navigation and observation), transportation, media, tourism, entertainment, advertising and others. Crucial selection criteria are business plan quality and amount of private investment already obtained. Of special interest are innovative business plans for enterprises that address markets: (1) in space; (2) enabled by space; (3) now commercially productive but which include an incremental plan for activities extending into space; and (4) that present the space experience.
Entrepreneurial Exhibit. Business plans selected by the Summit will be invited to exhibit during the Networking Reception and Exhibition on December 6.
A Proven Track Record. SIS-1 in New York City's financial district in April proved to be a highly successful first step. SIS-2 in Dallas in May 2007 (produced as the Space Venture Finance Symposium), continued to build forward momentum.
Location. SIS-3 will be held at the award winning resort, Dolce Hayes Mansion, located at 200 Edenvale Avenue, San Jose, California. The Mansion is 10 minutes south of downtown San Jose and minutes from the San Jose International Airport. The hotel website is www.hayesmansion.dolce.com.
